Review by hotel critic
The service provided by the hosts, John and Peta, was exceptional. They were welcoming, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. the breakfast they served was superb, with a delicious selection of items that were beautifully presented. the personal touch of delivering breakfast to my room each morning was a lovely gesture that added to the overall experience. The facilities at the Ruin were top-notch. the cottage was cosy and comfortable, with modern amenities and a homely feel. the garden area was a peaceful retreat where I could relax and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. the proximity to attractions such as the historic Falkland Palace made it a great base for exploring the area. One aspect that I particularly enjoyed was the in-room breakfast. It was a delightful treat to wake up to a delicious meal served in the comfort of my own room. the quality of the food was excellent, and I appreciated the attention to detail in every dish. the warm croissants and homemade granola were standout items that I thoroughly enjoyed. In terms of cost and luxury, I found the Ruin to offer a perfect balance. the pricing was reasonable considering the high standard of accommodation and service provided. the attention to detail and personalized touches added a touch of luxury to the experience without breaking the bank. Overall, I would highly recommend the Ruin at Maspie House to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Scottish countryside. the combination of excellent service, comfortable facilities, and thoughtful amenities made for a memorable experience. I look forward to returning in the future and exploring more of the beauty that Fife has to offer.
